Bucky Bear

This is one of my earlier projects that turned out better than I expected! He is Bucky Bear, Captain America's trustworthy sidekick and best pal :) I originally saw Bucky Bear on a tumblr comic and he was so cute that I had to make a crochet version of him for myself! I'm quite pleased with how he turned out, the yarn I used to make the bear was a pain to work with since I could not see the stitches at all!!! But it was worth it in the end :)

Just a little note: the bear itself is crochet, as well as the majority of the clothes. For the collar, mask, eyes, and nose I used felt and sewed it on, and added some fabric glue for extra security.

The yarn looks great in the finished product, but it was so confusing and quite bothersome to work with... But it looks just like fur, so I'll just be glad that the whole ordeal is over with. I could, however, be persuaded to make more for a good enough reason... :)

And here is Bucky Bear with my Captain America plushie! Aren't they so cute together? ;)

**And don't worry, I'm working on the Hobbit series still! I just needed to keep up with my blog posts, and Bucky was sitting in my room, feeling left out, so I had an impromptu photo shoot (haha). The first dwarf of the company should arrive soon, so please check in again!

The Hobbit series! (Part 1)

Bilbo Baggins

So, after watching the end of The Hobbit Trilogy and saying goodbye to Middle Earth, I've decided to  take up a little project! I plan on making the entire company along with our favorite wizard Gandalf and a few of those lovely elves ;) They will all be made in crochet amigurumi style, which I haven't really done before, but I think I'm getting the hang of it!
After a few attempts and a lot of practice and research, I present to you the burglar hobbit, Bilbo Baggins!

Here is Bilbo compared to my hand. He isn't that big, just about the size of my palm. He's 4 1/2 inches tall or about 11 1/2 cm. Do you like the little buttons on his coat? :)

He looks quite ready for an adventure! If only he had his (rowdy) dwarves to accompany him...

I hope you liked this first installment of my crochet Hobbit series! Check in next week or so to see which member of the company appears next!

Fingerless Gloves

I made these gloves recently for my dad. This winter weather is pretty harsh, so he asked me to make him some. These are a different style compared to the other gloves that I've made so far because these have half finger tips on them. I think they came out nicely for it being my first time making this style :)
These are dark gray (with a blue-ish tint) and maroon striped gloves:

I've found that everyone who I've made gloves for (including myself) likes to wear their gloves when driving, since the steering wheel is so cold. I'm really glad they like them :)

Striped Grey Gloves

Christmas Gifts Part IV

This is the final segment of my Christmas gift creations. I used the same grey and white striped yarn as the main thread for both styles of gloves, but I made a different pattern for each.

Grey and Red Stripes

I actually decided to keep the red ones for myself because I kinda needed gloves of my own, too! I had them ready in time for my little outing to NYC for the holidays :)

Grey and Green Stripes

These I actually made for a friend as a belated Christmas gift. Since I had a lot to do, I wasn't able to get all of my presents done in time... But she's cool with it! In the end, I'm just really happy that my friends liked all of their gifts, and that the gloves fit everybody!

Striped Gloves (Style 2)

Christmas Gifts Part III

Since I made these gloves for siblings, and they're the same except for the color, I decided to put it in one post. These gloves are a different style from the red and white gloves from the previous post.

Christmas Gifts Part II

Just a note: all of my gifts are gloves this year, just because I like making them and they can actually be put to use during this cold weather.
Anyway, these gloves were candy cane / Christmas -inspired! Very in tune with the holiday spirit in my opinion. So, here they are!
